UK Shooting Breaks

Shooting at Balbirnie can be tailored to your personal requirements.  They can offer a full driven pheasant or duck day or a rough day when you might take up their sporting challenges trying for 3, 5 or even 7 species in a day.

Driven Shooting

Every year there are a number of driven shoots available for groups or syndicates of 8 guns.  During September and early October there is Mallard shooting on some of our many duck ponds.  From late October to early January they can offer driven pheasants with the possibility of some partridges and woodcock. The gamekeeper rears ducks andpheasants with care during the spring and releases them over the summer.  He continues to look after them all the way through the season ensuring consistently good shooting.

Rough Shooting

Visit Balbirnie for rough shooting during the season.

They can offer an excellent day out for 2 to 5 guns at competitive rates.

A great variety of birds are available around the estate and depending on the following seasons they can organise whatever you want:

Red Grouse– 12 August to 10 December
Snipe – 1 October to 31 January
Partridges – 1 September to 31 January
Mallard, Widgeon, Teal and Goose – 1 September to 31 January
Pheasant – 1 October to 1 February
Woodcock – First full moon in November to 31 January
Pigeon – Mid August to February

Pigeon All Day Long

Their Pigeon & Goose shooting is fully guided with B.A.S.C. registered professional guides who have many years experience with shooting and are the best in the business at calling Geese.

PigeonAllDayLong are located approximate 1 mile west of Leslie in Fife Scotland and 5 miles East of Loch Leven which is one of Scotland’s prime Goose Roosts for Pinkfoot & Greylag Geese.

Shooting Season

To ensure top quality shooting they only take bookings for shooting during the times of year that produce the best numbers of birds. This will often be a shorter period than the existing seasons. They don’t do any type of bird shooting on a Sunday but Roe stalking is available.

Pigeons are shot from 1st February to the 20th April on winter rape and spring drills. Then from the 15th July to the 15th September over harvested crops. They also have a limited number of dates between October and the end of January each year.

Geese shoot decoyed geese from the 1st of October to the 31st of January each year. They also have many wild duck flight ponds that start shooting in September through to the 31st January.

Pheasant from the 1st October to the 31st of January.  Both Driven & Rough Walked Up days.

Roe Stalking, Buck 20th April to 20th May & Does 21st October to 31st March.
